I think Austin would make a fine coach and IMHO would carry on the Appy tradition well
The results of Travis Turners praxis exam came in. He didnt pass it. I know he has been going through a rough time as of late. He has one more chance to pass it, in June.
Coach Roger Austin has taken the Job, and had the kids lifting, however has said he will resign the head position as soon as travis passes the exam. Austin has been a long time assistant under Coach Turner.

Roger is a good guy, hard for anyone not to like him. I wish him the best and know he'll do a great job, no matter what his role will happen to be.
Leave the DRAMA to the MAMA'S
Roger is a good guy.
He wants to see what is best for the program. Whether that be him as head coach or someone else.
To me that shows a lot of character. He will do it unless they find or want some one else. What else can you ask of some one?
Roger knows the past and current situation and he know all the players from the last two years or so. And im sure if he needs any help it will be there.
Only thing i want to see. Is the 06-07 Dawgs make it happen. This was to be a good year. And it can be, it depends if those who wear the blue and gold adjust.
And decide to not let themselves down, or those who know what they can do.
everyone should be proud that roger went ahead and done this so the boys could get going untill travis gets his test passed. I admire roger for that.
"Take em one at a time and everything else will take care of itself"...Ole Tob
It also shows alot of character by him saying he'll resign as head coach when Travis passes his test. If nothing else, that should take some pressure off Travis to take care of what he needs to without worrying about the job or the kids. If he's like his daddy, I know the kids were layin heavy on his mind.
In honor and memory of my best friend Toby (oletob)

It will be good to get started, Roger would work well as head coach. This bunch is gonna be the last group with Tom's hardheaded style. I hope the tradition doesn't change and the next head coach follows suit. I just can't see Appy in much of anything but that "Balanced T" for an offense. But you never know sometimes change is good.
I think that is a big part of it Quincy. I think many close to the program, have seen the high stress level Travis has been under. With all that has transpired.
And Travis has been helping coach the girls softball team. Which has made a huge turnaround this past year.
I think it shows a lot of character and caring, for a person to take on a position, and to say what Roger has said.
This day and time it means a lot to have friends like that. And people around that care for the program that much.
Someone take the test for the boy. Geesh, how many times has he taken it now? I know he'll be a good football coach, but he's being hired as a teacher. Education is number 1 priority not football. Everyone says it. I guess that is why we have a topic going on between PV and GC. Football. Because it's all about education.
I wonder if it was Algebra, if we would have a heated topic on it.
I'd say with some of the stress off his shoulders, Travis may actually be able to take it, without having a ton to worry about.
Seems from what i hear. Some teaching now took it to the max. So ya know. Hard for me to say alot. When i know some who took it to the max, and are some of the best teachers in the local areas. And i don't just mean Wise Co.
Some times testing out is a thing many have problems with. I know DPOR made changes in how some test are now administered. You take them off the computer like a driving test. Not sure if this one is. But they changed a few of the test formats.
